Hi!
Today I am going to talk about my favorite band, Radiohead. They are an alternative rock band from England, and started this project when they were young. The integrants are Thom Yorke (The singer and sometimes the third guitar), Ed O`Brien (The second vocals and second guitar, who loves guitar sound effects and pedals), Phil Selway (Drummer), Colin Greenwood (Bassist) and his little brother Jonny Greenwood (First Guitar)
They started at college, their band was called “on a Friday”, this was in honor to the only day they can practice and gather together. Then they change their name to “Radiohead”, this time in honor to a song of Talking Heads.
Their first album “Pablo Honey” was really influenced by other bands of the time, like “Oasis” or “The Pixies”. The electrical guitar is the central instrument in this album. Their song “Creep” was a success for the band. But not everything was so good, the fans only like that song, and they left the concerts after Radiohead played it.
Then “The Bends” came. This album was released in 1995, and had more songs that attracted the view of a lot of people. One of their songs, “My Iron Lung” is a critic to their first musical success, “Creep”.
“Ok Computer” Had a really critical view of political facts, it’s a slow album, made when Thom Yorke was suffering a depression.
We can say that “Kid A” and “Amnesiac” are brothers. They had a same song with different styles, it’s called “Morning Bell”. From this album born “Hungry/Angry bear, the most known icon of radiohead.
Then “Hail To The Thief” appear. “HTTT” talks a lot about political and social injustice. All the songs of this album have a second name.
Their album “In Rainbows” is a kind of romantic and their last album “The King Of Limbs” is a completely mysterious. The video of “Lotus Flower” shows Thom Yorke`s Dance, if you like Radiohead (and thom Yorke), you will absolutely love it.
